The vision belonged to HRH Arfaq. But its realisation was entrusted to the hands of the Sonderegger family—craftsmen renowned for generations as guardians of beauty and impossibility. Founded in 1966 by Ernst Sonderegger, and now led by his son Dimitri, this atelier has transformed HRH Arfaq’s idea of a certificate into a tactile sculpture of meaning.
At first glance, it is simply beautiful. A bespoke box handcrafted from rare wood veneers, chosen to reflect your personal aesthetic. A palette of textures and grains shaped with reverence, not just for material, but for memory.
The box opens with the weight and silence of ritual, engineered to the tolerances of a fine timepiece or luxury humidor. Inside, it is lined with the softest hides and Alcantara, tailored and cross-stitched by hand in either matching or contrasting tones.
But what rests within this box is something far more profound.
SHAPING THE IMPOSSIBLE
This astonishingly beautiful and intricate certificate that is presented with each handbag has been crafted by the artisans at Nonverbal Communication, a family business founded by Ernst Sonderegger in 1966. Current head of the company, Dimitri Sonderregger, was commissioned by HRH Arfaq to bring his vision for the certificate to life. Together, they have created a unique and spellbinding statement of authenticity.
THE CERTIFICATE
Each certificate is handmade to order, a singular expression of your handbag’s story. Meticulously produced, it features a unique sequence of 52 numbers: a code that holds the complete legacy of your handbag.
These numbers are curated by design, aligned to a star constellation on a date of your choosing, perhaps the night of a birth, the moment of a vow, or a day when the world briefly held its breath. That constellation is mirrored, almost imperceptibly, into the certificate’s design. The process takes time, patience and secrecy; only one artisan knows how the numbers align.
An RFID chip, seamlessly embedded within the certificate’s structure, stores this numeric constellation and authenticates your ownership. Unlike serial numbers or barcodes, this is art encrypted in memory; a dance between the cosmic and the coded.
